Lowell L.. McKee, age 91, of West Alexandria, OH, passed away Wednesday morning, February 1, 2012 following a lengthy illness. Born in Preble County, he was a son of the late Clarence L. & Sadie Frances (Poffenberger) McKee. Mr. McKee retired from National Cash Register in Dayton after 19 years. He then went to work at Henny Penny in Eaton, retiring in 2004 at the age of 84; and continued to work part-time for several more years. He also worked full time as a farmer in Preble County until age 65.Member of the Olivet United Brethren in Christ Church in New Lebanon. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by beloved wife Caroline J. (Brower) McKee on July 27, 1998: sister Mary C. Bergeron: brothers Merrill E. McKee, Raymond McKee, and Mervin McKee.

Survived by children Carol Jean Herndon of Lewisburg; Frances Mae Church of West Alexandria; Floyd LeRoy McKee & wife Diane of Cardington, OH; Bonnie Sue Watts & husband Scott of Eaton; and Darrell Lynn McKee of West Alexandria: 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren: sister and brothers Vera M. Bruns of Richmond, IN; Donald L. McKee of West Alexandria; Loren McKee of West Alexandria; Virgil McKee of Columbus, OH; and Larry McKee of Eaton.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Pastor Elbert Sorrell presiding. Friends may call on the family from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Interment Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
