George Nixon, Jr., 84, of Farmersville, OH, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at his home. Born in Lanier Twp., Preble County, OH, he was a son of the late George, Sr. & Emma (Adelberger) Nixon. Mr. Nixon was a USMC veteran of WW II serving in the Pacific Theater in the occupation of Japan. He retired as a Supervisor after 30 years with Dayton Tire and Rubber; and was a member and Past Master (1971-1972) of John W. Durst Masonic Lodge # 716 F & AM in Dayton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by former wife Patricia (Cox) Nixon in 1984: brother Melvin Nixon and sister Mildred Bennett.

Survived by daughter Sherry A. Chroniak & husband Mark of Kettering, OH: son Michael A. Nixon of Union, OH: grandchildren Emilee Smoot, Farah Hanlon, Matthew Nixon and Jennifer Nixon: great grandchildren Evan Smoot, Brock Nixon, Jacob Hanlon and Emma Hanlon: brother Richard Nixon of Middletown, OH: best friend for 25 years Norma Mox & Norma's daughter Melanie Shafer, both special neighbors to George.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Pastor Susan Hartman presiding. Friends may call on the family from 4:00 - 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn. Interment Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.
