Dorothy I. Swartz, 80, of Camden, OH, passed away January 13, 2012. Dorothy grew up, and graduated from high school, in Monroe, OH. She retired in 1985 from domestic employment. She was Past Madame President of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary and volunteered with the Camden Fire and Rescue Auxiliary fundraisers. She enjoyed taking long rides to view the beauty of the seasons. Dorothy's family and friends enjoyed her cooking until dementia crept in and made it difficult for her to cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, August Swartz: parents Harry C. & Gladys A. (Mulloy) Pell: a niece Andrea: aunts and uncles.
Dorothy is survived by her children J. Carl Herold of Centerville, OH; Karen A. & Ted W. Sink of Greenville, OH; Andrew C. Herold & special friend Sherry Ferguson of Middletown, OH: brothers Richard C. & Nancy Pell of Dandridge, TN; David T. & Hazel Pell of Somerset, KY: sister Bunnie Hazel Condon of Trenton, OH: granddaughter Carlyn J. Sink & Joshua C. Tanner of Grove City, OH; grandson David W. T. Sink of Greenville, OH: great grandchildren Alexa and August Scarberry; Laura Jean and Micah Tanner of Grove City, OH: nieces and nephew Anita, Susan, Thomas, and Jennifer: aunt Jean Parker: and many grand and great grand nieces, nephews; and numerous cousins and their families. Dorothy loved her family and friends.
Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Dorothy's Life will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Brent Cavendish. Food and sharing of memories will follow the service in the funeral homes Community Room. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Dayton - 324 Wilmington Avenue - Dayton, OH - 45420. Dorothy's family sends a heartfelt thank you to the entire Hospice of Dayton family. You gave Mom, and us, a piece of heaven on earth. Hugs sent to each of you.
