Dear Margaret and family,
Our family was deeply saddened by the news of Wayne's passing. He has always been a dear family friend and his caring and compassionate presence will be sorely missed. The last time Joan saw Wayne was last November when she was visiting her mother, Lorraine Heidel, in Wartburg and was going in the local post office. He was standing inside the entrance with that characteristic welcoming smile visiting with a couple local residents. Wayne took time to say hello, shake Joan's hand, and ask how her mother was feeling. Our family will never forget the helpful, compassionate and comforting manner with which he guided us through the funeral arrangements for (husband and father) Edwin Heidel in February , 2011. Even after the funeral, he occasionally stopped by to pay his respects to Lorraine, offering a listening ear, understanding, and comforting words. Truly, Wayne was a man of God, reflecting on words from Ephesians 4: 32 (NIV), "Be kind and compassionate to one another, ... just as Christ..." May his dear wife Margaret, and his family take comfort in knowing Wayne is now experiencing the joy of Christ's presence. May each of you find encouragement and hope in God's promises and comfort in His presence.

Thinking of you in your loss and offering our deepest sympathy,
Lorraine Heidel, David & Sue Heidel, Joan & Neil Weber, Wanda Lane, Nina & Ron Wade

I am very sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. I remember Wayne from the time I was a small child and coming to Schubert's. I will always remember him being a very kind and considerate man. When my mother passed away in 2000, I asked my dad if Wayne would be there to help us plan the funeral. Of course, he was. I will miss him very much. However, as a fellow believer, I know that he is in heaven with our Heavenly Father and those that have gone before us. I will pray for the family in the days and weeks to come.

On behalf of all of my family I want express our deepest sympathy to Wayne and his family and to his extended family that I know includes all of the staff at Schubert Funeral Hone that looked up to him as a Father figure. I know your hearts are bleeding as I have suffered great loss in my life with the passing of my son Brad Byrd II a few years ago and most recently with the passing of my Dad, James H. Byrd.

Wayne and his entire staff were so gracious during my families times of grief and Wayne took extra care of my Dad as they were high school buddies that remained good friends throughout their lives.

Wayne and Margaret along with Billy Harper attended my Dad's 80th Birthday party and we were all joking that they would all live to be a hundred as they seemed so healthy. I truly treasure this memory.

When my Dad passed away in the wee hours of the morning in October, Wayne accompanied his staff to our home and assisted in carrying my dad to the funeral home and eventually onto his final resting place in Clear Creek Cemetery. I told Wayne how much of an honor it was to us that he took so much personal care of our dad, especially with the Eulogy that Wayne delivered at his funeral. I remember Wayne saying: "no, Brad the honor was all mine." I'll treasure these memories forever.

God Speed to an amazing man, Wayne Solomon.

Wayne had a way about him, a genuine heart-felt compassion that few people have. He and Margaret and "the boys" helped me through the hardest times of my life. Losing my grandparents, my Daddy - Duane Scott - and my Mother in Law - Alice McCartt. Wayne was a person you could always count on in the hardest of times. He always knew just what to say... and when a simple hug would say it all. He was a true gentleman and will be missed by all. My love and prayers to his family... and to "the boys".

Wayne's family and friends at Schubert Funeral Home: It is so sad to lose Wayne
but I know he is celebrating in Heaven with God and his loved ones gone on before. I was the first woman to work at Schubert Funeral Home and Wayne and "his boys" welcomed me with kindness and friendship. Wayne always referred to his staff as "the boys" - nevermind that some of them were fathers and even grandfathers! He had a special love for all of them. To define the quality of the Funeral Home, here is a little story from years ago: Sometimes the "boys" would grumble at having to wash the hearses so often and Wayne's response was, "People may not notice if the hearse is clean, but they will always notice if it is dirty". I believe Wayne and the staff embrace this quality service in every aspect. Wayne's life was a life well-spent!

With love and many prayers...

Mr. Solomon, you are very treasured member of our community and extended family. I don't know to what extent you realized it, but more so than a mortician or "undertaker," you have been a minister. Our family has suffered a great deal of loss, and the majority have been under your care as they have parted this world. My grandparents, my father, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Most recently, my cousin, Bud Gouge, and my dear aunt, Rena "Carol" Daugherty. These have been within the last two months. You were present for both funerals and offered a kind smile and a word of encouragement. You and I joked that you have been around since the beginning of time. You told me you would be there (at the funeral home) until the day you died. It was your passion and your CALLING. You and your family have made the process of sending our loved ones to their final resting place as easy as you could. You are a wonderful, wonderful Christian man who loved people and desired to ease the burden of death in the best way you knew how. There is no doubt that when you closed your eyes on this earth, you opened them in glory. You will be missed and never forgotten. May God bless you and keep your family in the hollow of His hand.

To Margaret, Joan, Billy, Jim, David, Randy, all who loved Wayne...

Wayne was a very special man, who loved the Lord, his family, friends and loved helping others. HE was a Man who lived his Christanity, 24/7.. He may have been hurting on the inside, but he always greeted everyone with a smile..always the same..

He and Margaret has been so blessed over the years and they shared those blessing with others..

God richly blessed us by allowing us to have Wayne and Margaret in our lives..

We had a good conversation with him the night before his surgery, never dreamed this would be our last..simply cannot believe he has passed.. this world will never be the same without Wayne..

WE thank God for giving us the assurance of seeing him again one day.. until then, he is sadly missed and will never be forgotten....

Men like Wayne Solomon are very few and far between. No one will ever know the impact he has had on the lives of others especially in our county. Generations to come will reap the benefits of his kind heart and humble way. From a Daddy's girl, "Other than my Dad, my opinion is there is no finer man to have ever breathed than Wayne Solomon." My heart is broken for your employees and family. You will be sadly missed. Our comfort comes knowing you are walking on streets of gold, free of pain. You suffered criticism for some of the good things you did but God knew your heart and knows the hearts of those who unjustly said things. I am certain you are being rewarded for your overwhleming kindness for others as we speak. Rest in peace, you earned it many times over. Love you Wayne my dear friend.
